Just in case you missed part 1 of the 2008 NBA Draft Preview, it concentrated on what I consider tier 1 of the draft. Here is a recap of my order for the top 6:
1. O.J. Mayo
2. Eric Gordon
3. Michael Beasley
4. Derrick Rose
5. DeAndre Jordan
6. Donte Green
Part two will conclude the lottery portion of the draft (top 14) and is what I consider tier 2 of this draft as I see it. Tier 1 is for the impact players. In other words, players I think have a good chance to become All NBA type of talents. Some are more risky (Jordan) than others (Mayo) but they all have the potential to blossom to that level. Tier 2 is mostly for All Star level potential or borderline All Star players such as the Tayshaun Prince, Shawn Marion and Caron Butler types. Real good and could be multiple season All Stars in the right situation. Maybe could even squeeze in a 3rd team All NBA on a strong team but not center peices of championship contenders. Here goes tier 2: read more »
Alright, so I went to the Wizards-Celtics game the other night at the Verizon Center and I am just getting around to writing about it now. Not topical, you say? Well, considering the Celtics just lost 3 of 4, including 2 in a row to the lowly Wizards, my bitter diatribe will work just fine. Thankfully, the win against the Blazers makes things look a little better, but anyone who watched that game will know what I am talking about. I am going to break this down into a couple parts and try to bring you into my terrible, terrible experience. read more »
Caron Butler scored 29 points and the Washington Wizards beat the Miami Heat 109-95 on Friday night to clinch a playoff spot for the fourth straight season. It's the first time the team has qualified for the playoffs in four consecutive seasons since it made five straight appearances from 1983-88. The woeful Heat set a franchise record with 19 3-pointers and still couldn't beat the Wizards, who... read more »

The Washington Wizards didn't like the idea of Dwight Howard getting two of his NBA-leading 60 double-doubles against them this season. They weren't crazy about all his dunks, either. So, Washington keyed on Howard on Wednesday night, and it worked. Antawn Jamison had 31 points and 11 rebounds and Orlando's All-Star center was limited to three points and 14 rebounds in the Wizards' 87-86 win. read more »

Caron Butler scored 25 points and Antawn Jamison added 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Washington Wizards to a 103-86 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday night. Butler eclipsed the 20-point mark for the first time in five games since returning from a strained hip flexor that kept him out of the previous 16 games. read more »
