Q&A: Jeremy from Pickaxe and Roll

The Warriors kick off the the MOST IMPORTANT WEEKEND OF THE SEASON Saturday night in Denver. We thought it would be great to have our SBNation brother and Mile High Favorite Jeremy from Denver Nuggets blog Pickaxe and Roll on the show. Make the jump for his many insights on the Nuggets.

Jeremy also mic'ed me up over at Pickaxe and Roll. Click and roll on over there to read my thoughts about why it's so fun to root for this Warriors team, how Monta Ellis has stepped up this season, what rookie Brandan Wright needs to do to get more PT, the Warriors in 9 potential playoff matchups, and the greatness that is Raider Nation.  read more »

Back in School: The Chris Wallace Interview - Part 2

This is the continuation of an interview Chris Wallace gave exclusively to 3 Shades of Blue. The first part of the interview began with his Blue Ribbon Basketball Digest up to the point he made his first real pick in the draft.

As in the Michael Heisley interview in April, we are presenting the interview in it's entirety and not taking excerpts out to forward any agenda or point of view. We at 3 Shades of Blue hope everyone enjoys the interview and trust our readers to draw whatever conclusions they want from it.  read more »

Live Blog Game 3

Nomuskles only writes game live blogs when his girlfriend isn’t with him. We’re lucky that she is hanging out with the USA national water polo team lately (purely platonic, I’m sure) freeing him up to write more. Here is the game 3 live blog, enjoy. Tomorrow we’ll break all of it down a little and talk game 4. 1st Quarter 10:19 Kobe finds Fisher open on the left side behind the arc and Derek strokes it for three. 5-2 Lakers. Denver comes back quickly and Kobe picks up the early blocking foul. 8:54 RadMan has been playing with a lot of energy here in the first. Hes gotten a hoop underneath, an offensive rebound, and he picked up a foul on the defensive end. 7:56 Lamar Takes Kleiza to the rim in the post.  read more »

Fiddlin' and Diddlin' - Daily Links 4/21

Herald Wait lifted from Celtics No slippage with Rajon Rondo FL's Take: Rondo was awesome in his playoff debut. It seems as though right from the beginning, people were questioning Rondo and he has answered every question emphatically. Celtics return playoff aura to Garden Celtics crowd pumps up volume FL's Take: Hopefully, the Celtics can get just as pumped up playing on the other teams courts. I know we have home court advantage and don't have to win on the road, but it sure would be nice to close out series early by winning in their buildings.  read more »

OT Fuels My Dislike for the Utah Jazz

(AP Photo/David Zalubowski) The Nuggets went through another 53 minutes of basketball with the Utah Jazz tonight with a less favorable outcome than Monday nights victory over the Portland Trailblazers. It was apparent early in this game that the play was going to be physical and that the tougher, both mentally and physically, team was going to emerge the winner. And it pains me more than you know to report the Nuggets lost, 118-115, to the foul happy Utah Jazz.  read more »

Nuggets Escape the Grizzlies

(Boulder-CO) The Denver Nuggets were sleep walking through 45 minutes of tonights game with the Memphis Grizzlies, but found a way to ignite late in the fourth quarter to win, 106-102, and end their road losing streak at seven games while avoiding a season-high tying three straight losses overall. The start of this game was full of news that players from both teams were not going to be able to play for a range of assorted reasons.  read more »

Nuggs Try a Comeback, but Get Blown Out

(Boulder-CO) The Denver Nuggets must have thought the Seattle Supersonics were on the docket. Instead, the Detroit Pistons revealed just how feeble a team both the Sonics and Nuggets really are because if Denver can put 168 points on the board against the Sonics one night and then allow the Pistons a new record first half total 73 points and lose, 136-120, you can rest assured knowing there is still disparity in the NBA. The Nuggets did show signs of life after being down by 22 at half, but their comeback would fall short due to the combination of questionable player rotations and a lack of sustainable defense. The first half was absolutely atrocious.  read more »

Rumors and Free Agent Updates - Celtics Spurned Edition

The big story is that James Posey, who was one of the most coveted free agents is now off the market. The Hornets were willing to give Posey what he asked for, and that is a 4 year, $25 million contract. The Celtics weren't willing to go that 4th year. Now that Posey is off the market, there may be more signings as the teams who were holding out and hoping to land Posey will now go to plan B and look to make a deal. This does seem to make both Chris Anderson and Janero Pargo a bit more available with their MLE wrapped up in Posey, the most they can offer is the league minimum. At least Posey didn't go to the Lakers. I don't think I could have stomached seeing him hugging Kobe before every game.
